There are many types of design styles out there today, and it can be hard to choose just one. Because of this, people have been mixing and matching different styles together, coming up with their own style, and many of these have actual terms or names now. This is funny because some styles wouldn’t seem like they would go together, such as rustic and chic, but people find a way to make them work! In this article I will start by outlining several of the most popular design styles, and in the second part of the article, I will suggest which ones will work best in your cabin or country home.

Rustic – uses raw and often unfinished elements like wood and stone, typically a gray, tan or brown color palette
Western – uses horse, animal, cowboy or lone star designs, use of leather or wood, southwestern has distinguished patterns in textiles, varying color palette, but mostly browns with pops of red, green or yellow
Shabby Chic – use of vintage items, distressed or antique looking, cream and pastel color palette
Minimalist – modern design but with simple, but minimal furnishings, neutral color palette
Modern – crisp, clean lines, use of glass or metal elements, neutral color palette
Contemporary – interchangeable with modern style, but uses more curving lines and flowing designs, simple or neutral color palette
Industrial – unfinished and raw elements, exposed brick, pipes and duct work, wood, neutral color scheme, but may have bright pops of color or abstract art on display
Traditional – classic details, fuse of wood and fabrics, abundance of accessories, rich color palettes

Typically in a cabin home, people tend to decorate with the first three styles, but sometimes incorporate a minimalist approach, since cabins are usually on the smaller side and less furniture is always better. You can usually mix these first 2 styles, rustic and western, but they don’t always go together with the 3rd, shabby chic. That one is a whole different style of its own. It tends to be more feminine, whereas the first two are more masculine . You can always incorporate the minimalist style with any of the designs above, if you prefer the “less is more” mentality.

Cabins look best when they’re decorated with the rustic design style, as it relates more with nature, since cabins are usually out in the country and in nature. So, anytime you can bring the great outdoors into your home, it is a good thing. People will admire that in your decor too. I have found many online stores that offer raw wood products in their selection of furniture and home decor. Some examples are logs made into beds and accent furniture, reclaimed barn wood made into artwork and headboards for beds, fishing poles and snowshoes made into lamps, and real bark used to accent coffee tables and side tables. Many people use the popular Lone Star design in their cabin homes, combined with horses or other wildlife.

Rustic style doesn’t always have to encapsulate a rough or unfinished look though. If you use a rustic style consistently throughout your house, with other design elements, it will look unified and complete. You can always add softer elements like candles or dim lighting, plush throw blankets and pillows, and faux fur or other soft rugs on the floor.

If you go with the Shabby Chic look, it can show your softer and more romantic side. It might make for a more relaxing environment too, since it tends to have softer furniture and uses a more neutral or pastel color palette. These elements combined usually help portray a softer, more casual feel. I especially like to mix Shabby Chic with the more modern, whitewashed wood look. I like this whitewashed wood look because it is lighter and brighter than natural wood, which tends to be darker. It doesn’t need as much lighting or windows either because of all the white, and also tends to look cleaner than traditional wood cabin interiors, which can look dark and dirty.

In summary, people will appreciate any effort you put into having a general style in your home. It is visually appealing and often entertaining to your guests too, especially if you have unique items on display, such as whimsical black bear accents or animal wall art etc. So, I hope this article encourages you to move in a general design direction for your cabin home. Even implementing just a few items can create a themed environment and can give it noticeable style.

When we say “neutral colours” many people think of it as a boring color scheme, but nothing could be further from the truth. For many individuals when neutral color schemes are mentioned, they immediately think of only beige. First of all, there are hundreds of shades of beige to choose from and there is a lot more to using beige in your living room’s interior design. Think about the way you will combine colors, neutral and otherwise. No matter what color scheme you end up choosing, the key to having a successful living room design is finding the right balance. There are a few simple, but creative strategies that can help you transform your living room into a beautiful space.

White and Dark Neutrals

Who said that all neutrals had to be lighter shades? You most likely think of beige if asked to name a neutral color, but darker hues can be neutral too. Some of the dark neutrals include dark brown, navy blue, some blacks, charcoal, gray and even deep gold. Some of these darker neutral colors work perfectly to bring balance to the living room and can be the perfect choice for sofas or recliners. If you prefer, you can use a dark neutral to anchor your living room by using it on an accent wall, area rug or for window treatments. Offset these with a lighter colored sofa or living room set and you’ve got a match made in heaven. Dark neutral shades are going to look best with lighter neutrals.

Using Monochromatic Neutral Colors

If you’d like to go for a more sophisticated look in the living room while not worrying too much about making everything match perfectly, you might want to try a monochromatic neutral color scheme. Start out with a base color that you prefer and really love. For instance, how about a deep, espresso brown? This is a classy color for living room furniture. Then you are going to use lighter shades of this dark neutral for other room elements. To achieve a balanced look, remember to use shades from both extremes lighter and darker.

Using Neutrals with Splashes of Color

Maybe you’re the type who prefers neutral furniture and walls but want to be able to express a more creative side. You can achieve this goal by using a neutral color as a backdrop and adding in brighter colors. The neutral shades tend to make splashes of colour literally pop visually. To keep this style balanced, you will want to use two or three accent colors max. If you add too many colours in it can become too busy and you’ll lose the effect. Choose neutrals for your furnishings and add in splashes of colours with your accessories like throw pillows, rugs, lampshades or window treatments.

The Art of Minimalism in Modern Day Decor

Comments Off on The Art of Minimalism in Modern Day Decor

Today, modern decor is all about simple and clean lines. It’s less about sheer aesthetic value and more about functionality.

The utility, the practicality of the space, the decor is what makes its aesthetic and not the other way round. Minimalism, from an art form has now progressed to a lifestyle. A lifestyle that more and more people are increasingly adopting. You see, the moment you declutter your home, free it from all the tangible additional baggage; a certain sense of ‘being free’ is felt at a very innate level. People tend to feel lighter at a very philosophical level.

One solution for those looking to declutter their homes is to get storage boxes. Today, one finds a lot of storage boxes online. It is thus advisable to purchase such boxes which clear up maximum clutter while taking the least space. In fact, look for boxes which serve multiple purposes. Look for ways to seamlessly integrate the storage boxes that you purchase, with the rest of your minimal decor.

Here are some steps that you can take to live more minimally, and in extension, more happily-

1. Make it Count-

Consider your home to be a beautiful puzzle. Let the decor be such that every product fits within it in a perfectly balanced way. Let there be no extra piece, however pretty it may be. Anything that doesn’t serve a purpose of fulfilling that puzzle is a piece that doesn’t count and so should simply be disregarded.

2. Quality vs. Quantity-

One must rather have key pieces which make a statement rather than multiple baubles that do nothing but create noise. Getting carried away by sweeping trends may sound quite alluring at first but will only prove to be a waste in the longer run. Instead, invest in timeless decor products. For example, of all the options of storage boxes online, it is advisable to buy vintage storage boxesrather than many other boxes for decoration. This will ensure that your accents look classy for years to come. Remember, the principle of quality over quantity to always maintain a cleaner, de cluttered home decor.

3. Left door in, Right door out-

Often we get so caught up in buying all the pretty things that come our way, we forget how we have a lot of similar stuff already. It thus, makes a lot of sense for all of us to follow a basic rule of letting something go for every new thing we bring into our homes. This ensures that there is no ‘junk’ as such lying around our homes. Things that we haven’t used in ages, broken decor accents that we can’t seem to let go, etc should all be shown the door to make way for newer, better things.

4. Small Steps Count-

If the modern home decor with its minimalist values is something that you are sceptic about but still want to have it introduced in your life, it’s best you ease into it slowly. For all new things in life, taking a sudden, complete plunge doesn’t always bode well. Taking small steps towards adopting a new philosophy is a sure shot way of sticking to it for a longer duration. This way, you are able to pay attention to details and slowly but steadily get accustomed to a new lifestyle. A lifestyle that you’ll realise soon enough declutter your life figuratively just as it does literally, giving you a clearer head along with a cleaner space!

Decorating Your Home with Recessed Lighting

Comments Off on Decorating Your Home with Recessed Lighting

Recessed lighting is a subtle way to focus your guests’ attention on a specific spot in your home, or it can be used as a way to provide soft overhead lighting to particularly dark rooms in your home, like your basement or a room that does not have a lot of natural light.

You might be wondering how to use recessed lighting, especially if you’ve never had it before. Do you use one light or many? How many is too many? Here are a few tips on how to use this type of lighting to your advantage.

One thing to keep in mind: you can retrofit recessed lighting. There are kits and tools available, or any home remodeler should be able to do this for you. You’re not limited to recessed lighting only in new builds and you don’t have to worry about having your entire basement remodeled to get these kinds of lights.

You want to be sure that the lights are not placed too close together, nor do you want them to go in a straight line down the center of the room you’re trying to illuminate. These two tips might seem almost counter-intuitive but your room will end up looking more like a runway and less like an inviting place to relax and hang out.

A basic rule of thumb when it comes to spacing: lights that are four inches big should be about four feet apart and lights that are six inches big should be about six feet apart. Consider centering your recessed lighting around the object you want to illuminate. For example, if you have a lovely sculpture on display, group the recessed lights around that sculpture and adhere to the rule listed just before this. You should also buy enough lights that you can light up the object from several different angles. This will ensure you and your guests can clearly see the object from all angles and there are no shadows cast.

If you are using recessed lighting to light up an entire room, consider where you will be placing your chairs and sofa. You don’t want people’s heads and shoulders to block the lights, especially if you are trying to read or play games.

The best part about recessed lighting these days is you can get decorative rings to go around the outside of the fixtures. You are no longer relegated to plain white or cream colored bands. You can get rings with lovely decorations and details, and you can match those to the rest of the room’s décor.

Bathroom Care Tips For A Spotless Finish

Comments Off on Bathroom Care Tips For A Spotless Finish

These bathroom care tips were created to help you keep your bathroom looking cleaner without too much effort. The bathroom is an important area in your home; it’s one of the ways you make an impression on your guests. This can put a lot of pressure on you to maintain a spotless bathroom. Of course, you keep it “hygienic” all the time, but “spotless” isn’t always possible. Rust stains, soap scum, and dirty grout prevent some people from attaining the “spotless” achievement.

If a bathroom that looks like new every time is what you’re aiming for, these bathroom care tips are for you. Once you get the initial bathroom overhaul, something I like to call the master cleaning session, out of the way, keeping it up should be a breeze. Let me just remind you that keeping any area of your home spotless takes regular maintenance. With that said, we’ll break this down into two parts: the “master bathroom care tips” to take your bathroom from dingy to spectacular, and the “everyday bathroom care tips” to keep your bathroom cleaner on a regular basis.

Master Bathroom Care Tips:

  • This is not the time to shy away from powerful products or professional services. If you’re dealing with overwhelming grime, rust, and build up it’s okay to use bleach to cut through months or years of neglect.
  • If you’re using harsh chemicals, always make sure you have enough ventilation to prevent inhaling them. Don’t underestimate the fumes.
  • If there are certain spots that are particularly dirty, apply treatments and bathroom cleaning products to those areas first. Let the products penetrate while you take on other areas.
  • Use steel wool or a scrubber with extra-firm bristles to scrub – always using gloves!
  • For tubs and sinks that need special attention, fill up the sink with the hottest water possible and add either bleach or other powerful detergent known for removing stains.

Everyday Bathroom Care Tips:

  • Once the bathroom is in better condition, you can start using more gentle bathroom cleaning products for your everyday routine.
  • Make use of storage to keep clutter at bay. This will make wiping down surfaces much easier.
  • If you don’t have a way to ventilate air in your bathroom, it can encourage mold and take longer for your towels to dry. Give your bathroom a hand and leave the door open to allow any moisture to exit.
  • Keep a scrubber in the shower so you can take care of any stains while you’re in there. One less stain to worry about come cleaning day
  • Speaking of cleaning day, dedicate one day out of the week to clean your bathroom. You can either use that day to clean all of your main rooms or just one room at a time.
  • Take one day out of the month to do regular deep cleaning on your rooms. This means applying a grout cleaner to your tiles, disinfecting your toilet bowl and bathroom floors, etc.

The Grout Cleaner Dilemma
Having a good grout cleaner can change your life. I know that seems like a bold statement but there’s just something about your tiles shining like new that makes the entire room shine brighter. The problem is that using a powerful grout cleaner also means using harsh chemicals. Nobody wants that, especially after an intense deep cleaning. One of the best grout cleaners I’ve used are actually earth-friendly and don’t require extensive scrubbing.

Upgrade To A Soap Scum Remover
A soap scum remover is one of those bathroom cleaning products that can make a difference in your routine. If you’re wondering what you can do for your shower door or curtain, one of the best products you can use is a no-scrub soap scum remover. It really does take the hard labor out of it and lets you effortlessly remove soap scum in minutes.

Choosing The Best Bathroom Cleaning Products
When choosing your bathroom cleaning products, there are a few things to consider before making a purchase. To make sure you’re bringing the best bathroom cleaning products into your home, ask yourself these questions:

  • How often will I be using this product?
  • Will it provide better results than the products I currently own?
  • Is it easy to implement into my current cleaning routine?
  • Is it a product that is known to produce results?
  • Is it safe and easy to use?

4 Effective Solutions to Clean the Bathtub

Comments Off on 4 Effective Solutions to Clean the Bathtub

When it comes to bathroom cleaning, the bathtub is always considered as the most important chore to address. It takes a central place in the room and likely sees a lot of use. You probably want to take a long soak in the bathroom after a hard day at work, but that is hardly going to feel as pleasurable if the bathtub is dirty.

What you have to keep in mind is that bathtubs made of different materials require a different approach to cleaning. For instance, enamel tubs don’t do well with strong acid and bleach cleaners. Acrylic tubs may be damaged if you are too vigorous with some abrasive tools. Porcelain tubs are the most durable and do well with just about any cleaning solution. As for what you can use to clean the bathtub, read on for a few recommendations:

  • Commercial solution – if you are not sure how to make your own cleaning solution, it is a good idea to get a specially formulated product. The market is full of all kinds of cleaning solutions, some of which are meant to tackle specific types of bathtubs. A quick walk to the store will reveal plenty of brands that can help you with watermarks, limescale and soap scum. For tough stains, you may need to use stronger force, such as a bleach-based product. This works wonders on light and white tubs and even old enamel. You should test on a small area first, just to be sure there is no danger.
  • Baking soda – baking soda is a universal solution that works great on old enamel bathtubs. The way you use it is by mixing two parts baking soda with one part hydrogen peroxide and apply on any nasty stains. Leave it there for some time and then give it a good rinse and scrub. Porcelain bathtubs can do with a more abrasive tool, such as a pumice stone, but you are better off using a sponge for acrylic and enamel bathtubs to avoid scratching the surface.
  • Vinegar – vinegar is a great solution for porcelain tubs. It is naturally acidic, which makes it ideal for cleaning water stains and soap scum. What you can do is fill the bathtub with warm water next to the stains and pour in three cups of vinegar. Let it sit like this for a while, and then drain the water. You will find the stains super easy to remove.
  • Shampoo – shampoo may seem like an unusual cleaner, but it works. Simply squirt a little directly on bathroom stains and scrub. The shampoo does the trick well enough against soap scum. You can also use it to shine chrome taps and other components. The best thing about the shampoo is that it is safe and will not harm your bathtub in any way.

As you can see, you have a few cleaning options to tackle the bathtub with. There is little doubt that they will ease a lot this home cleaning routine.

We all want our bathrooms to sparkle and shine. This is especially true for businesses that cater to visitors, guests, and clientele. Even at home, bathroom hygiene is essential to your comfort and quality of life. Furthermore, restroom tile is not just on the floors; it is also commonly installed on walls, countertops, and showers too. This means that keeping your bathroom tile clean is a multifaceted responsibility.

Fortunately, there are several approaches to successfully cleaning tile flooring and surfaces. However, learning the safest and most effect methods to removing mineral buildup can provide a more thorough, safe, and sanitary clean. Continue reading to catch up on some of these safe and effective bathroom tile cleaning tips and recommendations.

Mineral Buildup Removal and Tile Cleaning Tips

Regular cleaning is the best way to reduce mineral buildup and extend the lifespan of your bathroom flooring, walls, and other tiled surfaces. There are many cleaning agents on the market today that can be used for regular bathroom tile cleaning; some of which can be chemical-free, Eco-friendly, and child-safe.

With thousands of cleaning products to choose from, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. If you prefer an easier approach, you can simply use common household products to clean tile surfaces and flooring instead. Here is a great guide to refer to for tile cleaning and sanitization:

Here is What You Will Need:

  • Calcium Removal Product (i.e. CLR, Lime Away, etc.)
  • Painter’s Razor Blade
  • Toothbrush
  • Grout Cleaner (i.e. Grout Bully, Goo Gone Bathroom Cleaner, OXY-Grout Tile Cleaner, Ect.)
  • Hot Water

Here is What To Do:

  1. Spray calcium removal product liberally on wall and floor tile.
  2. Allow to sit for five minutes.
  3. Use painter’s blade to gently scrape large accumulations of minerals. Hold blade at a slant and push at an angle across the tile.
  4. Apply grout cleaner to grout.
  5. Allow grout cleaner to sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Scrub grout vigorously with toothbrush.
  7. Rinse with ample amounts of hot water.
  8. Repeat on weekly basis.

It is strongly encouraged to clean and sanitize bathroom tile floors, walls, and countertops at least once per week. This prevents tile stains, mineral buildup, mildew accumulation, and odors. You can easily extend the lifespan of your bathroom floors and counters by implementing routine maintenance and cleaning.

Sometimes tile flooring is at the point of no return; no matter how much you clean it, the floor remains dull, damaged, and ultimately, unappealing. If this sounds like your restroom floors, it may be time to consider a bathroom remodel. Contact a local and trusted bathroom remodeling contractor for professional advice and service.

How to Clean Walls and Wallpaper

Cleaning Tips and Tools

Comments Off on How to Clean Walls and Wallpaper

Walls accumulate a lot more dust than you might realize, regardless of the finish. To achieve a clean wall, first, remove all the pictures and wall décor. Second, move furniture away from the walls so you can have easy access. Lastly, when you actually start cleaning, dust your walls from the baseboard upwards to the ceiling using the wall brush of your vacuum cleaner or a soft hair wall brush. Pay special attention to corners, baseboards, and moldings because those places can gather the most dust and cobwebs.

Wipe off Stains Quickly

To maintain a clean wall, food stains should be wiped off as soon as possible to remove any solid particles. If there are grease spot remaining, use cleaning fluid with an absorbent mixture like Fuller’s earth clay or tailor’s (French) chalk. For ink splatters, carefully blot up the stain as soon as possible using a moist towelette. The next step is to apply Fuller’s earth or tailor’s chalk as you would a grease stain. If the ink stain remains, you can try using ink erasers as another option.

Wood-Paneled Walls

Wood-paneled walls, rarely need more than dusting. However, if they begin to look dehydrated and grimy, you can clean them with a soft cloth along with liquid wax. Rub the panels continuously with a clean soft cloth until you can touch the wall without leaving fingerprints. If your wood-paneled walls are painted with glossy or enamel paint, avoid using cleaning these types of walls with soap. Using soap on enameled surfaces usually leaves a distinctive film.

Wallpaper

Day-to-day care for wallpaper includes immediate removal of marks or stains. Light smudges and pencil marks can be removed by using art gum. Crayon marks can be removed with a soft sponge and cleaning fluid, though this should be tested first on a small patch of wallpaper to make sure the cleaning fluid won’t ruin the wallpaper. Warm soapy water can be used if the paper is washable.

Washable Wallpaper

Even if the wallpaper is labeled as washable, you should still test it before you start to work on it. Use warm, soapy water and a soft sponge and carefully test the paper by rubbing it with little water using a light touch. If the colors do not run and the area dries adequately, you can go ahead and wash your wallpaper. Washable wallpapers can be cleaned using warm water made with mild white soap or a mild detergent. Continue as mentioned before, being careful to not apply too much pressure while rubbing. Remember to take great care when washing wallpapers since using too much water will soak the wallpaper, weakening the glue.

Delicate Wallpaper

To clean thin, delicate wallpaper use warm water with no detergents or soap. Always work your way from the bottom upward. This is important since any water that dribbles down a soiled wall makes a streak that is not easy to remove. Also, change the water when it becomes dirty so that you’re not dipping and wiping your wallpaper with dirty water.

Lacquered Wallpaper

Lacquered wallpapers can easily be washed with warm soapy water or detergents. Wallpapers coated with wall wax can be cleaned simply by using a damp cloth. Special cleaners are essential for fabric-coated walls.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Air Ducts

Comments Off on Cleaning and Disinfecting Air Ducts

After being a General Contractor for over 30 years, the one thing that became clear to me was how dirty air ducts are. We would be removing cabinets in a kitchen remodel and every time, the vent under the sink would be disgusting. It’s what prompted me to check into the duct cleaning business in Billings, MT. We, my wife and I, researched to see what was out there and discovered an Oregon company called RamAir. I visited with Dave many times to get as much information as I could. I already was aware of the difficulty the brush systems had with getting deep into the system with all the 90 deg. turns and screws. Plus the fact so many systems today are the flexible ductwork that could be damaged very easily with a brush system. So with the RamAir System having the ability to get deep into an air duct with limited time and effort and would never harm flex duct, made it an easy sale for me, and so we started Comet.

One of the first jobs Comet did was for a sportscaster from a TV station here in Billings. The first thing out of his mouth when he answered the door was “I think this is a total waste of time and money, but if you can satisfy my wife please come in” I thought, well this should be interesting LOL. We set up and when we were ready to begin I asked him if he would like to come and see what we are getting out of his heat system. He was sitting at the dining room table working on his laptop and so he called for his wife and were standing next to me and I told Trei, my grandson, who had been working with me years working his way through college, “OK, let’s get started”. Trei turned on the pressure, entered the duct and instantly, the debris filled the clear dome that covers the vent and is sucked into the vacuum. They were shocked to see all the dust and debris come out. You see, with RamAir you can see with your own eyes using the clear doom system. Dave was telling me how this is a real WOW FACTOR and was he ever right. Their home was immaculate and when she saw this, she almost became ill, I had to settle her explaining how this is the dirty little secret lingering in every home, especially the older homes. Oh, and, by the way, he became a believer.

In the course of four years, what we have seen coming out of these heat and cooling systems has been amazing. for example, mice, and feces, dirty diapers, lizards, dead birds, open cans of half-eaten sardines and salmon, petrified sandwiches, jewelry, money just to mention a few. And if that doesn’t spark interest and having yours cleaned, the dust that collects on your window seals, picture frames, TV, tables, and yes your kitchen countertops are made mostly from DEAD HUMAN SKIN CELLS. In other words, your house is filled with former bits of yourself along with everyone else who has lived in your house. This collects in your system and is recycled every time it turns on. In one year, you shed more than 8 pounds of dead skin, and this dead skin is what trillions of dust mites live on. Disgusting to think of all the year’s people have been breathing the air coming from these vents. If people only knew.

A couple of years ago, Dave Hart from RamAir came up with a new invention, the SaniJet Disinfecting System. We here at Comet quickly added this feature to our program. All we have ever had to use in the past to try to sanitize air vent systems were the fogger. The fogger was held at the opening of an air duct, and a mist would spray into the vent. Dave actually did a video using a clear 6″ round pipe, 20 ft long to compare the fogger and SanJet, The fogger would sanitize maybe 2 ft into the vent, that was all. With the SaniJet, we take our pressure hose and re-enter the vent after cleaning. Once we are back, deep into the vent, we switch to our SaniJet sprayer and spray a mist as we come back out of the system completely coating the walls of the vent with our all natural disinfectant “Benefect” certified to be used in hospitals.

Using the SaniJet to disinfect your HVAC system took us some time to do as we would need to enter down each and every vent and return. Comet started out with a charge of $35/ vent to disinfect. After a few weeks, I did a special offer of half price for a limited time. This offer did produce a lot of jobs and with each one, we were getting more and more efficient in the application. But the most amazing thing began to happen. I was receiving calls, getting 5-star reviews on how much this helped those who were suffering from asthma, allergies, sinus and respiratory problems. The very first job we did with the sanitizing suffered from severe allergies and said that after we left, he had his puffers in his hand as he was ready to turn on the air conditioner. After turning it on, he was so pleasantly surprised he called me to tell me how wonderful it was to have his home as a sanctuary. From just the word of mouth from people who were so amazingly helped by our service produced so much work for us that today, we almost give sanitizing heat and cooling systems away.

We here at Comet have always felt we were greatly improving the indoor air quality in your homes, and this gives us a true purpose, but adding the SaniJet disinfecting system has taken it to a new level, to say the least.

After cleaning the ducts in hundreds of homes and many commercial buildings, I truly believe every home needs to have the heating systems or cooling systems cleaned and disinfected to greatly improve the air quality you breathe. Think of what this does to your lungs and your lungs are the FINAL FILTER.

Automatic Pool Cleaners for Above Ground Pools – How To Make A Right Choice

Comments Off on Automatic Pool Cleaners for Above Ground Pools – How To Make A Right Choice

Investing in an automatic pool cleaner for your above ground swimming pool can save you both time and money. It can also make life far more convenient for you and allow you to spend more time enjoying your pool rather than cleaning it. Just as their name suggests, automatic pool cleaners for about ground pools work without your guidance so you can sit back and relax while your cleaner does all the work.

Naturally, however, when you’re going to invest in an above ground automatic pool cleaner, it’s important to ensure that you choose a model that will be the best match for your pool and your cleaning needs so that you get the best results for your money. The following information will help you to consider the pros and cons of the various types of automatic swimming pool cleaners so that you can make the right choice and be satisfied with your investment.

Automatic pool cleaners are divided into three basic categories; namely, suction pool cleaners, pressure pool cleaners and robotic pool cleaners. Each type of automatic pool cleaner for above ground pools will provide different benefits and advantages and will also have their own drawbacks that need to be considered. The type of cleaner that will be best for your above ground swimming pool will depend on a number of different factors, including the size and type of your pool, your budget and the type and amount of debris that your swimming pool tends to collect.

Suction cleaners, the first category of above ground automatic pool cleaners, are designed to operate off the suction side of your swimming pool’s plumbing and filtration system. These automatic pool cleaners require suction to vacuum up dirt and debris as well as to move around the swimming pool. All of the dirt and debris sucked up by suction swimming pool cleaners is collected by the pool’s filter.

Advantages of this type of automatic pool cleaner for above ground pools include the fact that they are easy to install and to maintain. In addition, suction cleaners are a very economical option as they don’t require an additional pump to operate. The disadvantages are that suction cleaners aren’t very good at picking up large amounts of leaves and the dirt and debris that they vacuum up can cause your pool filter to become clogged. However, if you have a smaller above ground swimming pool that doesn’t collect a lot of leaves or other large debris, suction swimming pool cleaners could be a good choice for you.

The next category of above ground pool cleaners to consider is pressure side pool cleaners. These swimming pool cleaners are attached to your pools return line, which sends water pressure through a hose to the cleaning unit. This pressure provides the power for the cleaner to move around the pool and to collect debris.

This type of above ground automatic pool cleaner is great for cleaning larger pools or pools that get heavy usage or collect large amounts of debris. Pressure cleaners do an excellent job of vacuuming up larger debris such as leaves and twigs, and they collect debris in an internal bag, thereby preventing your pool’s filter from becoming clogged. They also help distribute clean, filtered water evenly throughout the pool.

The final type of automatic pool cleaner for above ground pools is the robotic cleaner. These automatic pool cleaners are self-contained all-in-one units which use a transformer plugged into a wall outlet to power pump and drive motors with low voltage electricity. Some models are programmable and can be set to manoeuvre in a particular way. Other models have the ability to learn the shape of your pool so that they can clean more efficiently.

Due to their efficiency, robotic swimming pool cleaners will clean your pool very quickly. They’re also very effective at cleaning up dirt and silt and do a decent job of removing leaves and twigs.
